Biography

Navid Jahanbakhsh (born 1992) is an artist, writer, and curator based in Tehran, whose professional practice spans the fields of production, research, and exhibition of contemporary art. He graduated in Graphic Design from the Tehran School of Fine Arts for Boys (2008) and holds a BA in Painting from Payam Noor University (2014). He has also completed specialized courses in art journalism and curatorial studies at the Chaharsoo School of Art. As a curator, Jahanbakhsh launched the Gca2 project and has curated exhibitions such as p1.8696.11.19, P:S1.K-V.14, and P2.8288.2.17 in venues including Mojdeh Gallery, the Museum of Design, and Didar Gallery. His curatorial project Mobile Art Projects adopts an interview-based approach to artistic engagement. His artistic works have been exhibited in the form of performance, video art, and group exhibitions. Notable examples include the performance Mefenamic Acid at Azad Art Designers Gallery (2011) and the video art Mute of Symphony No. 9 at Sayeh Gallery (2014). His works have also been part of group exhibitions such as the Pashte-Nevis (Backwriting) series, organized by Azad Art Designers Gallery and presented in several cities across Iran. Navid Jahanbakhsh is also active in the field of art writing and publishing. His articles and interviews have appeared in publications such as Morvarid, Tandis, Aftab Network, and Shargh Daily. He has contributed to exhibition catalogues and has given talks, including The Artist’s Life Marathon: The Warm-Up at the University of Science and Culture.
