Golnaz Payani creates works of art that freeze moments of time to reveal various temporal realities. Using media such as film, video, work on fabric, installation, ceramic, and poetry, Payani deconstructs our notions of time and materiality. Her works act as filters, highlighting specific odors, colors, and compositions. She creates voids that speak to the inevitable dissolution of time and memory. Her objects invite us to meditate on collective and individual consciousness.
