Biography

DaryoushGharahzad was born in 1976 in Tehran. 
He finished high school in the same city and learned painting from masters of painting at the age of 20
He studied, painting experiences in the environment of cities, nature, and studio and also working in graphics offices can be added to his activities in those years.
In an interview published in Farhikhtagan newspaper in 2011, we can read:
“DaryoushGharahzad is a well-known name in the art market, despite being only 36 years, but he successfully attended in all the Christie’s Dubai auction, Sothyby’s, Bonhams(London) and some of his works were always sold”. The same newspaper writes for him “it is possible to stare with a look like a dead one at a cup shape, a colorless flower on the carpet, the imaginary line on the wall for the long hours. Walls are the clearest example of routine in the present urban life; in circumstances where the man is trapped within his house and as if he has no way but staring at the wall.”
Gharahzad had an interview about relation between wall’s paintings and the social conditions of women and thair change with Fox news TV channel in 2009. 
It has been 12 years that he is studying women’s community and their social space in modern city (Tehran). 
Cultural conflict between urban modernity and women social space (Traditional) and also type of paintings which are a good representation of the Iranian women differences in his art works.
In the year 2011, Gharahzad in an interview with Iran, Etemad, Hamshahri, Bani Film, Shargh and Farhikhtegan newspapers reviewed his works in his last galley held in Day art Gallery.
Mr. Daryoush Gharahzadh’s interview on his cooperation with Mr. MajidDoukhtechizadeh(Artist) as a curator, done in 2013, was published in Honaronline visual service.
Gharahzad creates a new image of women in contemporary Iran as a social painting in terms of pop art and incorporates graphite space on the walls of cities with women enjoying the dressing of today's society of Iran with a realistic view.
Daryoush Gharahzad’s Art Biography: 
Successful being in the world markets and auctions had a very important impact on his works. For example, the focused views on social space of women in the cities are clearly visible in Gharahzad art works. Successful participation in auctions, produced these effects and extensive and in-depth study of these issues.

Daryoush Gharahzad’s published works:
Three valuable books were published about Iranian contemporary art history abroad and a collection of his works in different periods has been published in this book. 
• The book of “Different Sames” published in America in 2008 reviews the works of contemporary artists that have had the greatest influence of modern art. Moreover, this book has a close look at the curators and gallery owners as well as Influential Iranian politicians on contemporary works of artists inside and outside Iran. Some of Daryoush Gharahzad’s works have been published in this book. 
• Another book under title of “Iranian contemporary art history” written by Hamid Keshmirshekan, prominent Iranian art critic and scholar which completely and precisely reviewed the process of the creation of Iranian modern and contemporary art before the Revolution to the present day. The cover of this book has been designed with a works from the collection of ‘Identity’. This book was published in London and was unveiled at Christie's auction in 2013.
• ‘Tehran Art’ is a book in relation with reviewing and introducing pop art in Iran which was dedicated to the contemporary artists who states their opinions in the space of pop art. This book has been compiled by Mr. Lajevardi from Iranian Collectors and a part of this book deals with reviewing Mr’ Gharahzad’s works.
