Minoo Emadi (b. 1984 Tehran) is a graduate of Painting from Al-Zahra University in Tehran in 2008. Since 2003 she has participated in many exhibitions in Iran and abroad. Over the course of her practice, she greatly shifted her focus to break away from fundamental and conventional laws of gravity, direction, perspective and depth, creating independent self-referential images that stand between figuration and abstraction through simple grid formations. By using recurring themes in art history, she has formed a linguistic structure in her latest collection of works that eliminate all painterly behavior and texture to generate more direct, graphic-like shapes and forms that although static, are very fluid and dynamic.
