Samila Amir Ebrahimi was born in Tehran in 1950. With a Bachelor's degree in Law and Political Science from Tehran University, she went on to complete her studies in etching and printmaking (chalcography) at the Advanced School of Design for Art and Industry in Paris in 1973, later earning a BFA in Fine Arts from the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland in 1978. She has held 33 solo exhibitions, in addition to taking part in more than a hundred group exhibitions inside Iran and abroad. Samila Amir Ebrahimi's other activities include her work as a translator, writer and university professor.
