Statement

Shalman Gallery is proud to invite you to attend group photography exhibition “Eight cornea”  curating by Ali Mazarei and Pooya Soltanian on Friday January 17th, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. | This exhibition will be continued until Wednesday January 22th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

On statement of the exhibition Mr. Mazarei, Azad University of Tehran lecturer, writes:
“Minor White, a 50s American photographer, quotes Alfred Stieglitz as saying that "Stieglitz has said something about photography that makes it invisible. His speech was, in itself, a kind of corn. White uses the term "cornea" here to refer to a term that Alfred Stiglitz uses to express his own theory: that in art, pure and objective elements such as line, shape, or color can have precise interpretations of express abstract thinking and expressions of emotion. The belief that there is a complete relation between forms in nature on the one hand and mental imagery or emotional states on the other has always engendered new thought. "I don't take pictures ... I have an insight into life, and sometimes I try to find corners in the form of photos." Alfred Stiglitz
With this idea, seven students of interior architects have described the universal issues of the world around them with the "power of camera transformation" and exhibited their photos as the corners of their cameras engage with the daily concerns of their lives."
