Melancholy:
The healing process begins, by seeing the shadow of melancholy and accepting its scope of dejection and sadness. To depict the scorched earth, is to confront and acknowledge the failure, loss and regret. After confronting my melancholy, in response to the decline and devastation that followed, I miraculously pulled out a budding impression of life from the depths of death and darkness. In my imagination, the myth of creation motivates even my cut-off fingers and continues to move towards its sole intention that is to create. The strings of copper represent my will and intention to rebel against mourning which in turn is the reason for creating sculptures that yearn for something. Meaning! Union! Or maybe Love?!
