This first edition of Greater Toronto Art has been generated by the curators Daisy Desrosiers, Rui Mateus Amaral and November Paynter with leadership and support from MOCA Executive Director and CEO Kathleen Bartels. It is envisioned as a long-term commitment to Toronto’s artistic future, a framework that will continue to support the city’s creative community while addressing the most pressing issues of our time. While hundreds of large-scale exhibitions are mounted each year around the world, MOCA’s GTA exhibition is defined by its pledge to Toronto artists and the commissioning of new projects that add to a local and global discourse.
