With each stitch Parisa Taghipour reveals traces of one more memory, one more word,
one more scratch, ultimately she reveals her concerns, her anger and her joys.
Anxieties as well as her dreams and desires are part of her soft sculptures, entirely
made and painted by her, they are at same time soft and hard, and always expressive. .
Her feelings are transferred via every curve. The wealth and depth of her emotions, her
inner conversations, and dialogue with that other one, are simultaneously familiar yet
peculiar and offer a glimpse to her unique world.
She speaks through her wildly imagined sculptures. The forms resemble furniture
pieces, but the painted surfaces are all skin, soft and vulnerable but at the same time
hinting at resistance against the ugly violence that has become part of everyday life in
our land, particularly towards Women.
Through her stitches, using threads and needles - these fundamental elements in
history of humanity- and as if she is seeking reconciliation and healing, artist engages
with essential Human issues: love, fear, pain, safety and insecurity.
