Motifs have a history of several thousand years in Iran. Perhaps few civilizations have had motifs in this scope and diversity and in all artistic and handmade products. This preoccupation has lasted until now. Today's artists have taken new functions from it by using motifs in their works. Breaking the aspects of realism and creating symbolic and personal spaces, creating multi-layered and multi-sensory spaces, social expression and reflecting the contradictions of the current world, all provide artists with a powerful platform for creation.
Naqshvara is a collection that shows some of these aspects in contemporary Iranian art, which opens a dynamic and multi-faceted relationship to the subjects.
