This exhibition is an attempt to revisit the approach of Nikol
Faridani in his encounters with Iran’s landscapes an approach
grounded in long-term observation, detachment from
beautification and a deep focus on geological structure.
Faridani sought neither majestic imagery nor emotion-driven
narratives; relaying on field presence and geographical
understanding, he examined the landscape as an objective and
historical phenomenon.
His photographer is not mere representation of nature, but rather
the result of a union between methodical precision, sensitivity to
the shift of light and time and an avoidance of dramatization.
Today these works are regarded as documents of an analytical
gaze toward the land of Iran-a gaze that prioritizes observation
over interpretation, and transforms the image into a process of
understanding.
