Eight frames of Michel Setbouns’ photographs will be displayed on side walls of a car repair pit in an automobile service shop. The photographs are from the last days leading to Iran’s 1979 revolution and show the long queues for gas, oil and petroleum products when employees of The National Iranian Oil Company went on strike. The photographs were taken between November 1978 to February 1979 in Tehran and will be displayed for the first time in almost 40 years. The repair shop itself will be open during the show and in addition to viewing the exhibition, visitors can change their motor oil.
