Hajizadeh’s art is a dialogue with portraiture, groups or individuals, friends, or past popular icons. He often uses old family photographs and historical images as an anchor. Inspired by their pale and faded quality, he then used different techniques to create an eclectic mix. Hajizadeh’s work is enriched by a fusion of elements of Iranian visual culture, surrealism, abstract art, and pop art. He uses the term “nostalgic fiction” to define this unique blend of old and new in his body of work.
