All winter last year, I drew these seven paintings under the apartment’s cypress tree. What was I thinking of at that moment, I don’t recall. The earth and its veins, the sky, mountains, and perhaps all of these. Disclosures, minglings, friendships, sorrow, pain & elation together, all at the same time. Yet, I believe that there was no shadow of 
any viewer behind me.
