IN SEARCH OF LOST PLACES *
* An adaptation from the title of Marcel Proust’s novel, “In Search of Lost Time”.

Wandering continuously through the neighborhoods of Tehran come with the discovery of rifts in the city’s surface layer; Hidden passageways to a forsaken world.
It’s as if the city intends to conceal its anomalies behind concrete walls or chained gates, away from the eyes of passersby.

In search of a lost past, curiously, I stepped forward and peered into these crevices; Perhaps this curiosity will infect other pedestrians, leading them to take a glimpse into these cracks, in search of a forgotten identity and uncovering the hidden reality.

A reality from another layer of the city in which magnificent palaces now lie in ruins,
where the joy peddlers has been surrendered to oblivion,
and where the yards of houses have lost their vitality.
