The Caspian, this immense blue giant, at first glance appears untouchable and eternal—timeless, as old as history itself. If only that were true. Yet, with each passing year, it grows smaller and more fragile, and some predictions even speak of its complete disappearance. Still, its vastness makes such an end seem unimaginable, but the relentless decline of its water level continues year after year. Rivers that once rushed toward it now arrive diminished and narrow, like veins slowly drying up.
The works in this collection are an attempt to reflect on the Caspian, and on what, silently and before our very eyes, is taking place today.
