Through a series of intimate, small works on paper crafted with colored pencils, titled “Sohrevardi”, Faezeh Hamdizadeh (b. 1977 Tehran) explores the fleeting nature of moments that intertwine sorrow and joy. These pieces capture the essence of transitory experiences, often overlooked yet significant.
The artist's attention to detail and subtle use of color creates a contemplative space, where one can see themselves in the quiet, passing moments depicted, even without physically being present in the scene.
Massa Reza’s (b. 1998. Sanandaj) works are influenced by the geographical landscape of her hometown, Snanadaj, where she also resides. The collection “Enfolded”, which includes works using oil on canvas and frame-by-frame hand drawn-digital animation, revolves around the interplay between self-imagery and the surrounding landscape.
These paintings narrate the artist’s wanderings in Mount Abidar, a mountain of historical significance for the local people. Exploration, experience and discovery are central to the artist’s creative process, and these elements are reflected in the compositions, brushstrokes and dimensions of her works.
Fatemeh Yousef (b. 1999 Tehran) portrays the fluid and contradictory reality she experiences in her recent paintings from the “Anthem of the Earthworm” collection, seeking to create an internal and external dialogue through the language of imagery. The space and quality of her work can be unsettling, beautiful, amusing or ugly. Although all her works from different periods are connected in some ways, the works on display can be distinguished by their conscious creation of imagery. Fatemeh Yousef uses her own handmade colors with natural and synthetic pigments, as well as other materials such as acrylic and ink. The resulting colors create a strange quality in terms of spectrum, texture, and visual impact, which aligns with the theme of the works in representing a world outside of time, in a nowhere land.
